Service Overview
With natural ageing, we lose elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid, which results in loss of bone density and soft tissue and the redistribution of fat under the skin. Biostimulators help address this natural loss of volume and structure.Biostimulator injections are delivered deep within the dermis of the skin, stimulating the replacement of lost and damaged collagen. The new collagen created provides a structural foundation that helps to restore fullness by correcting volume loss, including deep facial wrinkles and folds.
What To Expect
A consult with our cosmetic physicians and nurses will determine the best treatment for your desired outcomes. If Sculptra is determined as the most appropriate treatment for you, you may be able to go ahead with your Sculptra treatment on the same day, or return for treatment at a more suitable time.2-3 treatments are recommended, 4-6 weeks apart, for optimal results. A prolonged effect may be achieved by having maintenance treatments every 1-2 years. The results of biostimulator treatment are gradual: this means that the changes are subtle, becoming more apparent over time. Improvements may last for up to 2 years after the initial treatment.
How To Prepare
Avoid taking any non-prescription medication that may thin the blood, such as anti-inflammatories for 2 weeks prior to treatment, as these will increase the risk of bruising. Do not wear make-up, including lipstick and mascara, or sunscreen on your face, on the day of treatment.
Aftercare
Immediately after the treatment, you will be asked to stay and ice the treated area for 10 minutes. This will limit bruising. Within the first 24 hours, apply an ice pack to the treated area intermittently, to help reduce swelling. Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. You may shower/bathe as normal, using regular products and make-up can be worn the day after treatment. If required, the treated area can be shaved gently the following morning. Alcohol, strenuous exercise and activity should be avoided for the rest of the day.

The biostimulator product also has a small amount of anaesthetic within it. It’s our goal to ensure patients feel little discomfort throughout the procedure.
