Biostimulator injections Treatment Overview

What are biostimulator injections?

As we age, our skin loses collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, leading to volume loss, fine lines, and deeper wrinkles. Biostimulator injections work by encouraging your skin to naturally rebuild collagen, restoring structure and firmness over time.

Biostimulator injections are treatments designed to stimulate the body's natural collagen production. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, biostimulators work gradually, prompting the skin to rebuild its own structural support over time.

What To Expect Before Biostimulator injections

Before your treatment, you’ll have a consultation with one of our experienced cosmetic physicians or nurses. They will assess your skin and determine whether biostimulator filler is the right treatment for your needs. If Sculptra is recommended, you may have the option to begin treatment on the same day or return at a later date.

For the best results, biostimulator injections are typically performed over 2–3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Many patients maintain their results with follow-up treatments every 1–2 years.

Because the treatment works by stimulating collagen production, results develop over time. Biostimulator injections before and after photos often show subtle improvements in the first few weeks, with more noticeable volume restoration over time. Most patients experience visible enhancement for up to two years following their initial treatment.

How To Prepare for Biostimulator injections Treatment

To reduce the risk of bruising, avoid taking non-prescription blood-thinning medications (such as anti-inflammatories) for two weeks before treatment.

On the day of your appointment:

  • Do not wear makeup, sunscreen, lipstick, or mascara.
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin for best results.

Biostimulator injections Aftercare

Right after your treatment, we’ll apply ice packs to help reduce swelling. You’ll also need to follow the 5-5-5 massage rule: Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.

Other post-treatment tips:

  • Makeup can be applied the next day.
  • Gentle shaving is okay the morning after treatment.
  • Avoid alcohol, intense exercise, and heat exposure for 24 hours.

  • Swelling (subsides in 5–7 days)
  • Lumps or small nodules (temporary, may take a few weeks to settle)
