Service Overview
Natural cell turnover means the surface layers of our skin holds dead skin cells. This turnover process slows as we age, or can become problematic in some people, meaning dead skin cells build up, and skin appears dull, thick and congested. A Radiance Peel gently removes this outer layer of dead cells, resulting in an improvement in the skin’s appearance and texture. Regular peels can increase cell turnover, while combating visible changes that come with ageing, resulting in smoother, brighter, more youthful looking skin.Conditions that can see improvement from regular Radiance Peels include skin redness or telangiectasia, pigmented areas such as freckles, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged or clogged pores, acne breakouts, scars, stretch marks or dry, flaky skin.
What To Expect
Your treating clinician will review your skin and determine the best peel for you, which can be dependent on your skin type, age, lifestyle, medical conditions and medications and your skin’s response to previous peels. Our goal is to provide safe, progressive improvement in the clarity of your skin, over time and with regular peels. Treatments are usually spaced 2-4 weeks apart. Your treatment time will be approximately 20 minutes.
How To Prepare
Avoid unprotected sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to treatment. If a tan is present, we may recommend delaying your peel. You may be prescribed a daily skin care regime for the 2 weeks prior to treatment, to condition the skin for optimal results. If you are having your face, neck or chest treated, please do not wear make-up, including lipstick or mascara, on the day of treatment.
Aftercare
Immediately after treatment, the area may be slightly red. We recommend applying sunscreen with an SPF50+ or greater, to the treated area, and wearing a hat or covering the skin, when in the sun. Make-up can be worn immediately after treatment. You may shower/bathe normally, using most regular products, however exfoliants, scrubs, AHA’s, BHA’s or products containing vitamin A should not be used for 7 days. The treated area can be gently shaved the following morningAlcohol, strenuous exercise and activity should be avoided for the rest of the day.Treated skin may feel slightly rough and flaky in the first week after treatment. Peeling skin is common but does not always occur. It is not necessary for successful results. We highly recommend diligent use of sunscreen with SPF50+ or greater, to protect your skin.
