Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is one of the most popular cosmetic uses for lasers and one of the most effective depilatory options available today.
The treatment is suitable for hair with some pigment, so, white, very pale blonde and some red hair, will not respond to treatment. Further, laser hair removal is more effective on pale skin tones, though at Neutral Bay Laser & Dermatology Clinic, we have a choice of lasers available, therefore, we can tailor the treatment to be safe on darker skin tones also.
Removing Hair with Lasers
Laser hair removal can be very successful, and permanent hair reduction may be achieved for some patients. Some patients may experience slow regrowth over time, but a “top up” treatment or two usually returns the patient to a great result.
To reach a satisfactory result, patients may need a number of treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart (depending on the area of the body being treated).
What parts of the body are suitable for laser hair removal?
It’s possible to treat most parts of the body, including legs, arms, back, bikini area, buttocks, axilla (under arms) and some parts of the face.
We suggest a consult to review your unwanted hair and to give you an estimate of the number of treatments that will be required. This is, however, an estimate, as the actual number required will depend on how each individual’s hair responds to the laser.
